Diablo Gorge
(Just starting up this blog page, bear with me while I figure things out!)
Diablo Gorge is a third person action adventure project in Unreal Engine 5. It started off as a tutorial I followed as part of an online course I was doing and Diablo Gorge is a revised version of it. The concept was to have as much functionality in the project as I could manage as a way to test my abilities. It has platforming elements, collectibles, combat and puzzles. I've learned many things on the way and most importantly, it's okay if things don't work perfectly. I've only being developing games for a year. Be happy with what I've done by myself and move on!
At the time of writing the basic game loop is practically done and small additions are needed to add more immersion to the project. Once those elements are added, extensions to the game will be added, such as short challenge levels and on the level exit, a second level which will be simply an environment to hopefully add story elements for fun. I'm aiming to get this completed before October 2024 and showcase this at a large gaming convention.
A full GDD (Game Design Document) is being completed along side this. I'll be sharing tons of snippets on this page and the entire document will be available for viewing at a later date!
As a little teaser, here is the latest dev diary for the game, I upload videos to YouTube relatively often (well as often as work and university allow). And if look back far enough, you'll see the very early prototype of the game.
That'll do for now and once it's finished, Diablo Gorge will be available for free on PC!
